I was a student of Mr. Hartman and saw her light shine through what a wonderful teacher he was also. I began looking for my teacher from long ago and find this sad obituary as the first hint of locating Mr and Mrs Hartman. I send my sympathies and my thanks for your service to education.

Dean hired me to open Gwin with her when she became principal. She was an outstanding leader and a great friend. My children and later, my grandchildren thought she was 'cool'. Dick and I thought the castle was truly the most interesting. I walked over the moat before the rail was up!. My memories of her are extremely good.

Dear Don, I was so upset when I read about Dean's passing this morning. Remembering both you and Dean brought back so many good memories. My family and I will never forget how gracious you both were in giving us a tour of your "castle" so many years ago. I share your sorrow and send you my thoughts and prayers.

My condolence to Mr. Hartman, you not only lossed a wife but a companion and best friend of almost 50 years. May it comfort you to know that soon Almighty God will "swallow up death forever and wipe the tears from all faces."-Isa.25:8 Also Jesus Promised that "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."-John 5:28,29
