Buddy was a dear friend. I’ll miss calling him, reminiscing about his Dad, and sharing stories with him. I’ll miss having Buddy make me laugh every single time I saw or talked to him. He was such a colorful character! I got a kick out of hearing Wayne’s stories about Scooter and Buddy growing up. He fought his illness like a champion and I so hoped he would win the fight. He will be missed by so many. It’s as if another part of his Dad has left. So very sad.

Buddy’s smile and positive attitude will be missed by myself and so many others in our community. David and I enjoyed many younger years together studying God’s word at First United Methodist in our New Genesis class. I’m glad I got to have a conversation with him not that long ago in my place of business. May God’s comfort be with his family as Buddy is experiencing this new life and new body with our Heavenly Father.

I had him for a summer art program in elementary school and loved him! He left the biggest impression on me. Years later I always talked to him at my work and the last time we smoke he said he’d bring me his delicious homemade cobbler. So sad I never got to try it.. you’ll be missed so much!

Oh this breaks my heart to hear. In the past few years I have commissioned Buddy to do several paintings for my office at the church. His art has become a great topic of discussion for the many who have visited my office. In fact, I had recently asked Buddy to do a new painting of me jumping into the arms of Jesus on that day that I enter the gates of Heaven. He was so excited about this project and I was really excited to see what he would come up with. Little did I know that when I checked in with him about his progress a few weeks ago that it would be the last time we would speak in this earthly life. And how ironic to know that it was he who was the first to jump into the arms of Jesus as he entered Heaven! Oh my dear brother I will miss our chats about our mutual love for the Lord! Your faith was such an encouragement to me! You my dear friend were a very special person and an inspiration to many including this pastor! I know God has probably already put you to work doing some paintings for Him in Heaven! I look forward to seeing you again my brother! Psalm 116:15

Buddy was a classmate from the class of 1981. His good soul, pure heart, and talented creativity touched me even from a young age. We have lost several classmates but this one stings. Heaven is a better place because Buddy is there. I am happy to have known him. Fly high, sweet friend.

Buddy was a great guy and a dear friend. He was meticulous in everything he did. He had an easy smile and and was the epitome of a southern gentleman. A devoted son, he was also a devoted nephew. A son to Jane and a brother to this only child. He was special and his memory, like his art will live on. I will carry his memory until I too become a memory. Rest in peace dear friend.
