Obituary of Judy H. Williams

Judy H. Williams, 81, of Talladega, AL passed away at her home on Saturday, July 27, 2024. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Michael Britton officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Williams graduated from Lincoln High School where she served as head majorette. She also attended Jacksonville State University. Mrs. Williams devoted 35 years of service to the Talladega Police Department where she worked on the staff of at least six different police chiefs. She also helped to “raise” and swear in over 100 officers during her tenure there. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Samuel Edward “Bo”Williams; father, John William Hamby; mother, Cora Will Langley Hamby, and brother, William Langley Hamby. Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Edward Keith Williams and Kimberly Ann Williams Newman (Reece); grandchildren, Anna Leigh Williams Sylestine (Jaron) and Kelly Patterson Ramsey (Jacob); great-grandson, Keenan Ramsey; 2 soon to be born great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews, Jeanene Hayes, Leeanne Buchanan, Rip Williams, Sandra Jacobs, Sammy Taylor, Wayne Taylor, and Jean Davis, and a host of other great-nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
