Kathy, Christa and Chrissy, I was sorry to see on FB that your dear husband and dad, Doug, had entered his heavenly home--he entered the same day my dear husband (Lance) did fourteen years ago, July 24, 2010. May God give to each of you His perfect peace, comfort and strength for now and for days ahead. While your hearts are broken, as God understands, we know God's timing and plan for each of us is when He knows we have fulfilled his plan--He makes no mistakes. May He continue holding you close and may each of us draw closer to our Lord and Savior each new day.
Love and prayers,
Liz Grissett and Family

I loved my brother, Doug, with all of my heart. His wife, Kathy and daughters, Christa and Chrissy I also love. It’s so hard in life to face the death of a loved one when they pass on. We must do this because no one ever lives on in an earthly life. We came into this world with nothing and we leave this world with nothing .This is how it’s written in the holy chapters of our Lord and Savior. We will see Him one day and on that great day of judgment, we once again will see our loved ones again. This day leaves me in deep sorrow and pain. As I remember Doug and me sitting in the Apple tree planning our future when we were children living our dreams in wonderland.

Q: What was Roland's favorite recipe?
A: I will never forget Mr Doug. I remember he would always come in to Stampede and we would prepare his favorite, the famous Doug's hamburger steak. He was such a gentle giant. Rest I. Heaven Mr. Doug. My sincere condolences to the famy and friends.
