Obituary of Joseph Lloyd Bell

Mr. Joseph Lloyd Bell, 79, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
Mr. Bell was born and raised in Wattsville, Alabama, and retired from the railroad. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War during which he received a Purple Heart. Joe was a people person and a great friend. Among his other passions were University of Alabama football, antique cars, and playing dominoes and bingo. He attended Seddon Baptist Church and gave his life to the Lord prior to his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Irene Bell; brothers, Johnny Bell, Willie Bell, and Joe Bell; and sister, Mary Margaret Bell Eaves.
He is survived by his twin sister, Linda Bell Long (William); nieces, Lisa Martin, Melodie Foote (David), and Patsy Lee (Dondi); brother, Etheridge Bell; niece, Tracy Bell; nephew, William Bell; sister, Geraldine Hunt; chosen daughter, Kisha Rawlinson (Harry); and a host of other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Vint Arnold and Bro. Dale Foote at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Interment will follow the funeral service at St. Clair Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Roland St. John, Chad St. John, Dale Macon, Doug Freeman, Melodie Foote, Harry Rawlinson, and Joseph "Jo Jo" Bell. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Moreland and William Long.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Lakeside Hospice (4010 Masters Road, Pell City, Alabama 35128) or to Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home (7054 Veterans Parkway, Pell City, Alabama 35125).
