Charles Edwin Kearley, 77, passed away at home on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama and moved to Columbiana, Alabama where he lived for the last seven years. He was a 30+ year employee of Talladega City Schools where he started as a teacher and coach and concluded his career after rising to the position of superintendent of the Talladega City Board of Education.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Sadie Kearley. He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Sandra Stewart Kearley; daughter, Teresa Kearley; son, Stephen (Christy) Kearley; two brothers, Dan
(Frances) Kearley and Wayne (Darris) Kearley; one sister, Kay (Paul) Selby; and two grandsons, Max Kearley and David Kearley.
He is being laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Munford. There will be a private graveside ceremony with family in attendance. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Cancer
Society.
