Our sincerest sympathy to Charles' family. Charles and Martha went from Central School through Talladega High School together. His kindness, helpfulness and humor were part of him from the first grade on...Charles and Russ played Babe Ruth baseball together. We remember him with love and admiration for a life well-lived.

Sandy and family, we are so sorry for your loss. I taught at Zora Ellis while Charles was the principal. He made me want to be the best teacher I could be. I worked for several administrators during my career, but none made me want to get it all right, as much as he did. I'm sure I wasn't his favorite teacher, but he was sure my favorite. Robin and I are so sorry, so very sorry. Connie and Robin Beverly

Mr Kearley was a great man. I have many fond memories of him as my principal. I got the great joy of having him in elementary, junior high, and high school as my principal. He use to tease me that he was following me. He was no doubt my favorite principal.

Please accept our most sincere condolences on the loss of your husband, father and brother. I was proud to be his cousin and bragged often about his many accomplishments. I joked often about him being upper class while l being lower class Kearley. I remember one time I shared that with him and Sandy and they said no we’re lower. I’m sure God considered him First Class and is showing him his mansion. I truly hope this makes you smile at a time when you feel like crying.

I played Jr. High football and basketball for Coach Kearley. I remember him giving me a ride home many times in his cool blue Chevy pickup. We always had some good conversations and he would ask me about what I wanted to do with my life and give some advise and ways to accomplish my goals. When I got the Head Football Coaching job for Talladega High he gave me his support and gave me some tips from his experiences. A great mentor and friend that I'll always remember.

Coach Kearley was one of my teachers in 1973/1974. Just moved to Talladega after the first six weeks at Stewartville Jr High, a very small school comparatively to Dixon Middle School. He made me feel welcome. Coming from a small school to Dixon was a new awakening. We never had to dress out for PE. Was strange for a 13 year old. Always remember Coach Kearley for helping me at the new school. He and Coach Dewayne Clark. Sincere condolences to Coach Kearleys family. He made a difference in young life!

Dear Sandy and family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Charles' passing. He was a loving individual, with a heart of gold and a smile that lit up the room. Although he may no longer be with us physically, please know that his memory will live on through the love and laughter he brought into this world. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
May God bless you and bring you comfort and peace.

I remember Charles always smiling and laughing. We would go visit them as a child with our parents. I remember he and Dan used to love to jump in the big pond in the front of the house. Such a great guy. He will be sorely missed. Some day we will see him again up in Heaven.

Charles myself and a couple of other guys commuted to JSU one summer from Talladega. He set a good example for us as we were young and kind of wild back then.
