My heart is broken as we laid to rest today a wise man beyond his years. To have known him was a blessing in many ways. He included me in some of his travels and without him I would not have had the wonderful adventures that we went on. Thank you my friend....RIP Mr. D.. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you.

Don and I met when I was 18. My stepdad, Dr Thomas Gann, was one of his closest friends. They worked together for many years at Berry High School. Don , Deane, and my parents met for dinner once a month with two other couples and they were all very close. The Harteman’s were Godparents to my younger brother, Brad Gann. Don was one of the wisest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He will be truly missed.

Mr. Hartman lived a long and valuable life. He was my favorite teacher at W.A. Berry High School. I am saddened to know of his passing.

p.s. Learning Spanish from Senor Hartman rescued me several times in Mexico, Venezuela and the Caribbean. He was the best of the best!

Don and his wife Dean and I use to ride around and talk. We had a blast. He asked me once if he could Ghost a story of me being braught up in East Tennessee. I told him we would have to change the names to protect the guilty instead of the innocent. Him and Dean thought that was a hoot. You both are missed, but memories will remain.
