I had the honor of serving with Tracey twice, first at Whidbey Island, and later at Fort Meade. He was my friend, then my Chief, and then finally my brother. Fair winds and following seas.

I am sad to hear today that Tracey is no longer with us. He and I were stationed together both in Virginia and in England. We spent a lot of time together golfing and just having fun when we weren't working in England. To say we were best friends back then would be an understatement. My deepest sympathy goes out to your family during this time. I have a photo of us when we both bought new cars (his was a black Avenger) in Florida and drove them up to his parents house in Talladega in 1998 one weekend. If I can find it, I will post it.

I truly loved Tracey and the time we served together! He was a true friend and I think of him frequently when I reminisce about my days in the Navy. We were together from A-school thru my career. He was such a goofy, lovable guy always asking me to "carry" him somewhere whenever he needed a ride:) Heaven truly gained an angel!
Love and Condolences,

While Tracey and I were not the closest of friends, we were in the same watch section for a long time in the early nineties in Virginia Beach, and probably in England as well. The last time I saw him I ran into him completely out of the blue aboard my aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz. I don't think he was stationed on the ship, because I only saw him the one time.
My thoughts are with Tracey's family. He was a year younger than me, and it is scary to think about friends passing so early in life.
He was a good person whom I probably never gave enough credit to, but I know he did a lot of good for the world.
Rest in peace Tracey. STG1(SW/AW) Heidi S BruMar (USN Ret.)

A wonderful person was lost to us. Tracey was such a great friend and mentor. I knew him since my first duty station in Whidbey Island, WA and he was very kind to me as I was a junior sailor and knew nothing. He helped me feel like a part of the team, instead of an outsider. I will always be grateful for that. I caught up with him again at Ft. Meade and it was a joy working with him then. He was always trying to keep everyone's spirits up and was joking and laughing with us. He was sure to keep in touch when I was deployed to check in on me and make sure my family and I were okay. He also helped me in Maryland when my town home flooded and I needed to replace the floors. He was always willing to lend a hand. Tracey, my hearts breaks to think of what demons you had been dealing with over the years, but I hope you have some peace now. My thoughts and prayers to all the friends and family.
