Funeral service for Michael Lester Ponder, 65 of Anniston will be Sunday October 4, 2015 at 2:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Donnie Thompson will officiate and burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. His family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
Mr. Ponder passed way at his home October 1, 2015.
He was a native of Talladega and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam era. He was retired from Winn Dixie as a store manager.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Muriel Ponder and brother Dwight Ponder
His survivors include his wife, Cheryl Buckhannan, sister, Carolyn Crowell (John), step-daughters, Dusti Welch (Jared), Laci Buckhannan, Wendi Buckhannan, grandchildren, Sawyer Austin, Starley Welch, nephew, Rodney Ponder, niece, Beth Crowell.
Pallbearers will be Jared Welch, Johnny Crowell, Ian Childers, Eddie Hamilton, Dan Pynes, Wendell Buckhanan and Sawyer Austin will be a honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
