Obituary of William Douglas Parker

Graveside service for William “Bill” D. Parker, Jr. 80, of Talladega will be Saturday at 2:00 at Oak Hill Cemetery. DR. Dennis Jones will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. Mr. Parker passed away August 27, 2015 in Anniston, Al He was raised in Ozark, AL and was a proud member of the U.S. Navy prior to attending Auburn University. He was an Auburn graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Fisheries Management. Mr. Parker was a District Fisheries Biologist with the Alabama Department of Conservation for 10 years. He entered the life insurance business with Mutual of New York and received his CLU degree. He was a past president and Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Ruth and W.D. “Ike” Parker of Ozark, AL. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Raff Parker, son, Jeff Parker, daughter, Laurie Jordan (Gary), grandchildren, Ashley and Emily Ham, Sarah Beth Parker Sloop and Zachary Parker, sister, Jenny Bray (Mike), nephews, Douglas Walsh, Dr. Chris Walsh. Pallbearers will be:C. B. Stowers,Zach Parker,Jimmy Walker, Graeson Sloop, Joe Hutchinson, and Chuck Auman. In Lieu of flowers donations to ASB or First Baptist Talladega Outdoor Activity Center.
