I am sorry for your loss, please accepted our condolences and may the peace mention at Philippians 4:6,7 sustain you and your family during this very sad occasion. The Bible tells us "the wages sin pay is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our lord". In the near future we can expect to see the dead awaken from their sleep by means of the resurrection. Jesus said "Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out"( John 5:28,29). Just imagine one day we will see our loved ones again living life free from sickness, pain, and death (Isaiah 25:8; Isaiah 33:24 and Revelation 21:3-5).

My Uncle Bill was an amazingly kind man who was generous in so many ways. Although I have not had the chance to see him recently, his presence--greater than life--is always with me and near me.
I am so sad to hear of his passing. When I look deeply at all of the events and moments that brought me to grieve this tremendous loss of life and energy, I begin to see the fullness of my relationship with my uncle.
I remember the joy and laughter over amazing family meals finished with Doe's chess pie and peppermint ice cream, getting in trouble for being a naughty nephew and being looked at in 'that' way that needed no words, but clearly expressed my behaviour was unacceptable and the lessons about life that he taught by setting a near perfect example.
Often, there is a serendipitous relationship between joy and grief that exists, so this is a time I look deeply at the love and the joy that travels along side my pain. When I think of Uncle Bill, I see my whole family and all of our experiences and marvel at interconnectedness and complexity of life.
For me, the practice of gratitude helps remind me that life still has so much to offer. To enjoy simply being alive is the true gift of letting go, of healing. I am truly grateful for all Bill Parker stood for. He is the kind of man who set the standard high. Remembering him, his accomplishments and my family, I let go of my suffering and embrace happiness with all who knew him, and feel peace.
With loving kindness,
Chris
