James O. Cottingham Sr. (Joe), 80 of Talladega Passed away at his residence May 1, 2015. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday May 6, 2015 11:00 am at Munford Baptist Church with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The Rev Randy Hagan will officiate the service. Family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home Tuesday May 5, 2015 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 p.m. Mr. Cottingham was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Betty, He was retired from Kimberly Clark, member of Munford Baptist Church and a former member of Southside Baptist Church and Wilsonville Baptist Church. He participated with the Alabama Baptist Association, coordinator of the Raceway Ministry, Chaplin for the Alabama Disaster Relief, Member Carpenters for Christ and a Gideon, Volunteer for Shocco Springs and the Samaritan House, active member of the Lay Renewal Team, Formerly employed by Sloss Furnace where also volunteered as a tour guide and was a member of the National Guard. He is survived by son James O. Cottingham Jr. (Pam), son Don Cottingham (Pam), daughter Renee C. LeCroy (Gary), son James Nix (Donna), son John Nix (Betty), Judy Nix Gunter, sister Midgy Jenkins (Ralph), 11 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Daphney Martin and her family and Comfort Care Hospice. Usrey Funeral home Talladega will direct the services.
