Mr. Lackey went to be with his Savior on December 6, 2012 at his home with his loving wife and sisters by his side. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Bennett Lackey, brothers Fred and Leroy Lackey, a son, Kenneth Lackey, and his former wife Geneva Atkisson Lackey. He attended Eastaboga Baptist Church and served in the Army and Navy, retiring from the Navy in 1980 as Chief Warrant Officer. He served as Talladega County Commissioner (2004-2008) and loved working on his farm, especially horse rides with his family. Survivors are his beloved wife, Virginia Phillips Lackey of Munford, son James Lackey (Shannon) of Deatsville ; daughter-in-law Tawana Lackey; stepsons Todd (Rhonda)and Patrick (Shannon) Williamon sisters; Polly Lackey Phillips of Alexandria; Pearl Lackey Watts (Floyd) of Munford; Anne Lackey Stephens (John C.) of New Hope; brothers, Tom Lackey (Jean) of Munford; J.C. Lackey of Pineville, WV, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Pastor Mike Snyder will officiate
