Obituary of Edna Ruth King

Please share a memory of Edna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
She was the daughter of R.L. Drummond and Estelle and Dewey Blackmon. She is also predeceased by her husband and father of her children, Raymon D. Freeman, her only brother Gary (Shorty) Drummond and her oldest son Michael Freeman. Survivors include her children; Ray Freeman, Larry Freeman, Rusty Freeman and Sharon (Freeman) Stafford, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Edna Ruth had various occupations starting in the textile mills, then went to trade school and became a hairdresser, owned her own beauty shop in Marietta, GA, then went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from Citizens Baptist Medical Center here in Talladega. A special thanks to the nurses and staff of Sylacauga Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially the West Wing Staff, for the wonderful care that our mother received during her 5 years there. Family and friends of Ms King and her children are cordially invited to a visitation at Usrey Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral Service for Ms King will be Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Dr. Sam Tate of Central Baptist Church officiating. Services will end at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later time.
