Obituary of Samuel L. Grice

Funeral services for Samuel L. “Sam” Grice, 84, of Talladega, will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 2 PM at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel of Talladega. Rev. Glenn Horn will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. His family will receive friends Monday night from 6-8 PM at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. Mr. Grice passed away February 11, 2012. Mr. Grice was a native and life long resident of Talladega. He was a member of Bemiston United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the finance committee. He was retired as a long time Circuit Clerk of Talladega County, member National Board of Clerk and Registrars Association, was a long time Boy Scout Master, Little League baseball and basketball coach, played basketball with the Bemiston Industrial League, was a charter member of the Talladega Rescue Squad. He also loved camping and traveling. He traveled 48 states, Mexico and Canada. Mr. Grice is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne Grice, daughter, Sandy Grice Kauffman (James) of Talladega, son Sam Grice II (Cindy) of Pell City, sister, Nelda Coupeland of Pell City, grandchildren, Ryan Kauffman (Ashley), Ginger K. Culverhouse (Justin), Samuel Kauffman, Zachary Grice and Claire Grice He was a loving husband and father and was “Main Man” to his grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ryan and Samuel Kauffman, Zachary Grice, Justin Culverhouse, Adam Kelly and James Kauffman.
