Name:Mrs. Kathleen Fambrough Davis Age:93 Residence:Ragland AL Date of Death:Wednesday, October 19, 2011 Place of Death:Ragland Background:Kathleen worked as a clerk at the Ragland Post Office for six years before her appointment by President Harry Truman as Postmaster in 1951. She served in that position until 1982. She was a member of many postal organizations during her term of service. After her retirement, she traveled and studied with the Elderhostel program throughout the United States. She was the oldest membe of the First Baptist Church of Ragland, Alabama and a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 150. She was a member of the Historical Societies of Ragland and St. Clair County. She served on various senior citizens' committees in Ragland that woked to initiate programs for the aging. She had a true love of people, especially the less fortunate. She loved and appreciated the simple things of life. Preceded in Death by:She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lorenzo Davis and by her son, Fabert Talmadge Davis.
