Name:Mr. Mickie Gordon Barber Age:77 Residence:Pell City AL Date of Death:Tuesday, September 13, 2011 Place of Death:Pell City Background:Mr. Barber was the first Director of Nursing at Ingram Manor and at St. Clair Regional Hospital. He was an instructor at UAB for Nurse Anesthetists as well as being a member of the first Kidney Transplant Team. He worked for 15 years as a Nurse Anesthetist at St. Clair Regional Hospital. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard as a Hospital Corpsman. Survivors:Wife: Sandra Barber, Daughter: April (Richard) Abel, Sons: Randy (Donna) Barber, Kinsman (Marie) Barber, Michael (Legay) Barber, Sister: Helen Marie Champion, Grandchildren: Stephen, Jason, Bradley, Hillary, Madison, Malin, Peyton, Daniel, & Maggie Barber, Cassie, Allyson, & Benjamin Abel, Great Grandchildren: Chelsie, Skylar, & Aubrey Barber, Carson Morgan Service:Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City Friday, September 16, 2011 11:00 A.M. Clergy:Rev. Billy Little Cemetery:St. Clair Memorial Gardens Visitation:The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
