Obituary of Jeral William Hughes

Graveside service for Jeral William Hughes, 80, of Talladega, will be Friday September 2, 2011 at 11 AM at Munford Baptist Church Cemetery on Jinnefer Road. Rev. Tommy Strickland will officiate. Mr. Hughes passed away at his home on August 31, 2011. He was a native of Talladega County and attended Munford Baptist Church and was retired from Teague Tractor Company. He had interest in camping, traveling and seeing new places. He and his wife Sara ventured across the United States from the east to the west coast. They especially loved Texas. They made many life long friends and shared wonderful memories. He was a charter member of the Chesha Good Sam Club and was a past president. He loved visiting his family and friends. After retiring, gardening gave him much pleasure. He was a good neighbor and taught others how to garden, build a fence, and work on tractors. He also tried his hand at being a carpenter. He had a quite since of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two sisters and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Sara Coley Hughes, three children, Scott (Deana), Bryan (Carol), Jennifer Hayes (Curtis), 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Immediately following graveside service in Munford, the family will receive friends at Southside Baptist Church, 1101 Cherry Street Talladega.
