Obituary of Howard Wallace Bussie

Howard Wallace Bussie, age 83, of Talldega will be Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 at 10:00A.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal church in Talladega with burial following at Pine Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bussie passed away Monday, September 13th, 2010 after an extended illness. Mr. Bussie was a lifelong resident of Talladega County and a devoted husband and father. He graduated from Munford High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Bussie Oil Company, farmed in Talladega County his whole life, and served as Talladega County Commissioner. Mr. Bussie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Landreth Bussie; four sons, Howard E. Bussie and wife, Peggy, Wallace C. Bussie and wife, Debbie, Glenn Bussie and wife, Teresa, Brent Bussie and wife, Stephanie; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gwendolyn Woodard; two brothers, Gerald Bussey and Dan Bussey. He was preceded in death by his parents Littleton and Esther Bussey; sisters, Gay Langley, Mildred Cazalas, Annie Carl Gibson; brothers, Carol Smith and Littleton, Jr. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, including Brian Bussie, Barrett Bussie, Dennis Pounders, Jared Bussie, Jason Williams, Chad Carr, Nathan Collins, Bryer Bussie, Brody Bussie, Braxton Bussie and Austin Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Preuitt, Bill Stanford, Shane Turner, Eddie Smith, Johnny Smith, Jim Hare, Jerry Studdard, Chris Campbell, Jackie Swinford, Johnny Frank Turner, Pete Woodard, Dr. Charles Lambert, Baptist Home Health, and Munford High School class of 1947. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Peter's Episcopal Church Organ Fund, 208 East North Street, Talladega, Alabama 35160.
