His survivors include his sons, William Gerald Davis (Kathy), Mark Alan Davis (Cindy), Theodore Stubbs Davis (Susan), daughter-in-law, Cay Smith Davis, grandchildren, Brian, Claire, Jason, Hayden, Carissa, Dylan, Briana, and Louisa Davis, brothers, Dr. Sam D. Davis (Ruth), Harold F. Davis (Carolyn) and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian S. Davis, son, Dr. John Benton Davis and brother, Mike Davis.Dr. Davis was a native of Gordo AL. He was a graduated from Birmingham Southern College and received his Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt. He was the pastor many churches through out North Alabama including Talladega. He retired in 1992 from the First United Methodist of Florence. Dr. Davis loved history and was involved with the Methodist Historical Society. After his retirement, he received his Masters Degree in Gardening.Honorary pallbearers will be the Clergy of the North Alabama Methodist Conference.
