The grief that is felt when we lose a loved one may seem unbearable. At such times, we can go to God's word for comfort. God too feels hurt when an individual dies. That is why the encouragement found at Revelation 21:4 assure us that "He will remove sorrow and death will be no more." According to this scripture, there will come a time when those we have lost to death will be brought back by means of a resurrection by the Almighty God. May the family find comfort that God makes available to everyone.

To those of you left behind to mourn Russel's passing: We were neighbors of Ruth's and 'Pot' Richards, in fact my husband Roy Smith went into the service with 'Pot' and about 11 others at the beginning of WWII. Russel and my daughter Sherry Smith took dancing together when they were about 3 years old. Ruth would keep my little son Roy, III, while we went 'dancing'! Russel was always SO upbeat and happy-go-lucky growing up. To Duff and 'Pot', my heart goes out to you having known you! I know all of you are heart-broken! I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out. I was a childhood friend of Russell's, and she has been on my mind lately, but unfortunately I didn't call. From the age of 3 on, she was so special for me to be around. Some of my most treasured childhood memories were with Russell. I will be remembering all of you in my prayers. I know that she is in Heaven with her precious Mother, Ruth.

My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. May you find comfort from the promises made by our loving Father. Psalm 34:18 says he is near to those broken at heart and saves those crushed in spirit. Revlation 21:4 mentions a time when He will wipe all our tears away and death and sorrow and pain will be no more. May these thoughts from the Bible bring you hope.
