Obituary of Harry Eugene Sims

Harry Eugene Sims, age 60, of Talladega passed away on Tuesday, March 08, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 2:00P.M., at Usrey Brown-Service Chapel with interment in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Rev. Andy Mims officiating the services. He was a graduate of Winterboro High School Class of 1968. He was a former employee of Newberry Foundry, Central Castings, and Tyco Industries. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gable Sims; daughter, Sheryl Sims Butler (Kenneth),Jeannie Sims Luker (John); sister, Mary Faye Lett, Helen Thomas (Jimmy), Dianne Upchurch; brothers, Gregory Sims (Gail), Michael Sims (Teresa); grandchildren, Kaden Butler, Alex Luker, Kaylee Luker. Pallbearers will be Kevin Dobbs, Shane Stephens, Mark Edwards, James Gable, Robbie Lett, Frankie Upchurch, and Will Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be beloved co-workers of Tyco Industries of Anniston. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the friends and family who provided friendship, support, and care during this difficult time. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the Dr. Harvey, his staff, and Alacare for the care given to Mr. Sims during his illness.
