Obituary of Joe M. Hipps

Mr. Joe Hipps was born August 13, 1927 and passed from this earth on March 2, 2011.
He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army. Twelve of these years were served overseas and included service in the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam. He served with the 187th Airborne Infantry during which time he made 52 parachute jumps.
He retired in 1990 and returned to live in St. Clair County. Since retirement he has made two cross -country motorcycle rides and has hiked the Appalachian Trail.
He will be missed by his friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:45 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Visitation prior to the service will be from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City.
