Obituary of Reba Hollis Thomas

Funeral services and a celebration of life for Reba Hollis Thomas will be held at 11:00 A.M. ,at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega on Tuesday, February 1,2010. Brother Jeff Thomas of Sylacauga, Alabama will officiate. Visitation will be an hour before services.
Mrs. Thomas, age ninety, went to be with her Lord January 29, 2011. She was a faithful member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Talladega.
She was born in Tallapoosa, Georgia to Charlie Frank and Ina Hollaway Hollis. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Chadwick D. Thomas and a sister, Sue Hollis Lindsay.
She was a dedicated teacher for almost thirty years with the Talladega City and County Boards of Education as well as the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. She tutored and encouraged many children during her life. She was also a devoted and faithful Sunday school teacher up until the time her health began to fail.
Mrs. Thomas was always very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Frank D. Thomas, Sr. (Shirley) of Talladega and her daughter, Carolyn Thomas Stewart (David) of Alabaster, Alabama; her grandchildren, Angela Thomas, Frank Thomas, Jr. (Gloria) and Chad Thomas, all of Talladega, Brian Thomas (Tracey) of Ijamsville, Maryland, Leslye Stewart (Todd) of Nashville, Tennessee, Amanda Raney (Jonathan) of Montgomery, Alabama and great-grandchildren Jake, Elizabeth, and Sam Thomas of Talladega and Luke and Julia Thomas of Ijamsville, Maryland. She is also survived by a sister, Jessie Hilton of Panama City, Florida, a brother Fred Hollis (Laverne) of Pinson, Alabama and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be men of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
