Obituary of Russell Wells Lakey

Funeral service for Mr. Russell "Rusty" Wells Lakey, Jr. 55, of Munford, will be Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Collett will officiate and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Munford AL. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm and Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. Mr. Lakey passed away March 1, 2015. Mr. Lakey was a native of Talladega and lived most of his life in Munford. He worked in the poultry industry for 25 years. He loved NASCAR, Alabama Football, and The Pittsburg Steelers although his first love was his family. He is preceded in death by mother, Betty Mae Lakey and father, Russell Wells Lakey, Sr. Survivors include wife, Karen Hooper Lakey, son, Steven (Emily) Hubbard, daughter, Emily Lakey, son, Lucas Wells Lakey, sister, Karen (Doug) Lackey, brother, Boyd (Laura) Lakey, brother, Scott Lakey, brother, Jeff (Violeta) Lakey, grandchildren, Braden and Maddie Hubbard, and was proudly expecting a third grandchild. Pallbearers will be Roger Thompson, Gary Sanders, David Taylor, Michael "K.O." Keefover, Robbie Lakey, and Jonathan Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be Brady Jones, Walter Russell, and Mark Shockley.
