Obituary of Henry Don Welch

Funeral Services for Mr. Henry Welch, age 83, will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Alpine Baptist Church. Reverend Brad Mitchell and Reverend John Sawyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Winterboro Cemetery. Mr. Welch passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Welch. He is also preceded in death by numerous pets that he adored throughout the years. “Candy” a special poodle was one of his favorites. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wood Welch, sister Martha Ann Barclay (Hopp) from Plant City, Florida, brother Haskell Welch from Beaumont, Texas, niece, Mary Johnson from Plant City, Florida; stepchildren- David (Aundrea) Powers from Andover, New Hampshire; Larry Powers from Sunnyvale, California; Phillip (Kristin) Powers from Columbiana. Step grandchildren, PJ Powers and Nicholas Powers. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Alpine Baptist Church. Service will begin at 11:00. Pallbearers will be Gary Garner, Gary Ryan, Todd Lackey, Bill Curlee, Terry Robinson, and Ricky Hardy . Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsey Stephens, William Robinson, Don Harville, Jim Rickles and Hank Fannin. Music will be provided by Cathy Knight. Henry retired from the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made to the Scholarship Fund at Alpine Baptist Church.
