Obituary of Jerry Matson Elder

Jerry Elder, Sr., 81, passed from this life January 19th, 2011 at Regional Medical Center. Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dean; son, Jerry Jr.(Pam); daughter, Gail Dean (Ron); three grandchildren, Bobby Busch, Tommy Busch, and Danae Elder; four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Katie, Kaden, and Kaleb; sister, Katherine Dinaso; several nieces and nephews. Jerry was a salesman having worked seventeen years for Barber Sales and then retiring from Mutual Saving Insurance Company after 12 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and served as deacon at Betta View Hills Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Bobby Busch, Tommy Busch, Russell Bittle, John Caldwell, Keith Blankenship, and Bill Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Elder, Jerry Michael Elder, Dale Blankenship, Dan Brown, and Ray Ishee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011, at 2:00P.M., at Betta View Hills Church of Christ with interment in Pine Hill Memorial Park. He will lie in state at the church on Friday from 12:30PM until 2:00PM. The family will be receiving friends at the Betta View Hills Church of Christ Thursday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
