Henry Alden Limbaugh, 86, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025. Mr. Limbaugh’s family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Bethel Christian Church. A graveside service will follow at Bethel Cemetery with Steve Burke officiating.
He was born on August 31, 1938, to William and Sara Limbaugh. Mr. Limbaugh was a talented draftsman who spent his career designing specialized equipment and machinery for the wood processing industry. He worked several years for Kockums Industries in Talladega before relocating to North Carolina where he was employed by Ligna Machinery. Longing for home and family, he returned to Talladega where he finished his career at Talladega Electric Service and Supply. It was in his “retirement” that Mr. Limbaugh found his niche in helping friends and family design a new home or remodel their existing homes. His hand-drawn plans were detailed and precise, making them a contractor’s dream.
The last year of his life, Alden relocated to Decatur, Alabama, to live near his son, Mike, and his family. It was their true joy and blessing to have “Papa” nearby to share a meal, spend time at the lake, and enjoy family game nights. Papa’s quick wit, funny stories, and easy-going personality will be greatly missed.
Mr. Limbaugh is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sara Limbaugh, wife of 61 years, Barbara Jean “Bobbie” Hutto Limbaugh, and only sibling, William Floyd Limbaugh, all of Talladega.
He is survived by his son, Mike Limbaugh (Robin); two grandchildren, Michael Alden Limbaugh Jr. (Maggie Rae) and Sarah Alice Limbaugh; great-grandson, Lance Daniel Limbaugh, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joey Hutto, Stan Mitchell, Les Jenkins, Cason Smith, Tom Richardson, Terry Hutto, Scott Limbaugh, Todd Cheshire, and Clint Brewer will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mr. Limbaugh’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org or 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
