Obituary of Martha Faye Earley Ballard

Mrs. Martha Faye Earley Ballard passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, of natural causes in Sylacauga, Alabama. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in her honor at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, 11050 Chelsea Road, Chelsea, AL 35043. Her family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Ballard was born and grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she met and married her husband, Robert Lewis Ballard. She lived the majority of her life in Alabama and worked at the University of Alabama, both in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, for many years. Mrs. Ballard was a faithful child of God and attended Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, Alabama. Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Ballard, 10 siblings, and one grandson, Jacob Rhys Ballard. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ballard; two sons, Robert and Vince Ballard; a daughter-in-law, Ava Ballard; two grandsons, Caylin and Chandler Ballard; a granddaughter, Jessica Ballard; a sister, Ellen Roemer; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Ballard, Carolyn Ballard Davis, and Gail Ballard; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Ballard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
