Jewell Lee McDonald, age 98, peacefully passed away on December 5, 2024, at her home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega, AL, with John Waites officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family invites friends to a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.

A lifelong resident of Talladega, Mrs. McDonald was a cherished member of the Cherry Street Church of God and was retired from the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. She was known for her radiant smile and her generous spirit, embodying kindness and love.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her daughters, Judy Burlison (Darrell) and Robbie McDonald; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Blackstone (Kyle), Jay Whitten (Cassie), and Leslie Burlison; as well as great-grandchildren Corey Davis, Katlyn Armstrong, Breanna Cocke, Kyleigh Blackstone, Jaylee Whitten; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McDonald; her parents, Theodore and Stella Brown; brothers Johnny Mac Brown and Lonnie Richard Brown; and grandson Eric Whitten.

The family extends special gratitude to Sherry Tumlin and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimbo Brown, Greg Sanders, David Yates, Shannon Glenn, Robin Beverly, and John McDonald.
