Obituary of Mary Jo Grizzell Northcutt

Mary Jo Grizzell Northcutt, 87, was born to Johnson and Irene Grizzell on July 23, 1937 and passed away on November 15, 2024 while peacefully surrounded by her eight children and grandchildren in Snellville, Georgia. Mary Jo attended Ragland High School until she married William Northcutt on December 12, 1953. This union blessed her with eight children that have survived her: Sarah Campbell (Ray), Janice Silva, Carol Cobb, Wendy Northcutt, William Northcutt Jr. (Patricia), Dale Northcutt (Denise), Ronnie Northcutt, and Jackie Northcutt. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Ann Kendrick and Helen Morrow. Her legacy will live on in her fifteen grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was a precious mother and a precious Nana to all who knew her. Mary Jo was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Scottdale, Georgia for over forty years. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home - Pell City from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ragland, Alabama with Jason Broadnax officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her infant son, Thad, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Ragland, Alabama. Her grandsons, Wayne Vileski, Mark Northcutt, Chris Northcutt, Justin Northcutt, Richard Northcutt, and Cody Walls, will serve as pallbearers.
