Obituary of Helen Bonds

Graveside services for Mrs. Helen Bonds, 82, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Pine Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Casey Jones officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas. Mrs. Bonds died January 15, 2015 peacefully at her home in Carthage, Texas. Mrs. Helen Rita Hoffpauir Bonds was born August 1, 1932 in Morris, Louisiana. She was the fourth of nine children born to the marriage of Alton Joseph and Evonne Broussard Hoffpauir. She was raised in the Catholic Faith in South East Louisiana also attending schools there. Helen married Thomas Bonds, Jr., and they celebrated 51 years together before he preceded her in death. Mrs. Bonds worked over 15 years for Star Engraving in Houston, Texas, and loved sewing and fishing. She is also preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Alice Vayon, Mable Sonnier, Jim Hoffpauir, Leroy Hoffpauir, Harry Hoffpauir, Shirley Thibodeaux and Huey Hoffpauir. Mrs. Bonds is survived by her sister, Yvonne Knight and husband Don of Carthage, step children, Edsel Bonds and wife Rita of Samson, AL, Janice Bouldin and husband Mike of Talladega, AL, numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives, and a host of friends.
