Obituary of Lavella Ezell Ansley

Funeral service for Lavella Ezell Ansley 86, of Talladega, will be Friday, January 16, 2015, at 11:00 am at Usrey Brown-Service Funeral Home. Rev. Stanley Willis and Rev. Paul Gilbreath will officiate and burial will be in Eastaboga Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. She passed away January 13, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Ansley taught for 20 years in regular education and 20 years in special education. She retired from Talladega City School System in 1991. She was in the nursing home ministry for 32 years and was a member of Cherry Street Church of God. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ansley and husband, Rufus Austin Compton. Survivors include son, Jonathan Compton, son, Joel Compton, daughter, Joy Compton, granddaughter, Jamie Gilstrap, sister, Levenua Austin, brother, Fred Ezell, sister, Ouida Allen, sister, Sandra Willis, sister, Sue Gilbreth In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cherry Street Church of God.
