Ethridge Franklin Smith, 86, of Munford, AL passed away on Tuesday, October 08, 2024. His family will receive friends at Munford Church of Christ on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the church with Ronnie Hurst officiating. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was a native and life-long resident of Munford where he served as a past president of the Munford High School Band Boosters, former chairman of Youth Activities, was member of the volunteer fire department, and coached Little League Baseball for many years. He and his wife, Betty, were also largely responsible for helping to get the town of Munford incorporated. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Smith was a member of Munford Church of Christ and loved his classmates from Munford High School Class of 1956 dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith; parents, Almond and Minnie Smith; daughter, Pam Smith; great-grandson, Maverick Williams, and sister-in-law, Judy Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Williams; son, Brian Craig Smith (Debby); grandchildren, Jay Williams, Jacob Smith, and Logan Smith; great-grandsons, Jameson Williams and Phoenix Williams; brother, Joe Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jay Williams, Jacob Smith, Logan Smith, Joel Smith, Micah Smith, Josh Smith, Lynn Swinford, and Lane Evans will serve as pallbearers.

Munford High School Class of 1956, Jameson Williams, Phoenix Williams, and Billy Evans will serve as honorary pallbearers.
