Obituary of Charles Oliver Drummond

Charles Oliver Drummond, 89, of Talladega, AL passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 05, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Evan Keene and Tony Thrower officiating and Johnny Drummond performing the music for the service. His family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Hepzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Drummond was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega. He graduated from Talladega High School in 1955 where he was an honor student. Mr. Drummond attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Gadsden State Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering. He retired from Kimberly Clark after 46 years of service and was a member of Harvest Center Church in Pell City. On the rare occasion that he relaxed long enough to take vacations, Big Sur and Hearst Castle in California and Alaskan cruises were his destinations of choice. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by them all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Eunice Drummond, sister, Nell Waits, and brothers, Ed and Johnny Drummond. Mr. Drummond is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Drummond; sons, Dr. Charles Opie Drummond (Ann) and Carl Drummond (Autumn); daughters, Stephanie Jarmon (Eddie) and Bethany Stonicher; grandchildren, Chloe Drummond, Sean Drummond (Marissa), Samantha Soverns (Desmond), Gary Drummond (Abby), Dallas Trese (Michael), Xander Jolley, and Lauren Anderson (Parker); 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eunice McCoy, Martha Parton (Homer), and Corliss Pruitt, and a host of nieces and nephews. Homer Gene Parton, Mark Parton, Gary Drummond, Sonny Adcox, Ty Myers, and James Myers will serve as pallbearers. Danny Hurst and Wally Ratan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
