Betty Gwendolyn Perley, 85, of Talladega, AL passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Her family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega on Wednesday, September, 18, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A graveside ceremony will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Pine Hill Memorial Park with David Curley officiating. Mrs. Perley was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega County, and she was Baptist by faith. She retired from Palm Beach Textiles before working as a babysitter for multiple families for over 25 years. She was a dedicated mother and “Granny”. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Perley Sr. Mrs. Perley is survived by her children, Darlene Peterson (David), James Larry Perley Jr., Michelle Hurst (Randy), Allen Perley (Mary Beth), and Vivian Whitten (Randy); 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. James Harvell, Jordan Harvell, Jason Green, Jacob Green, Adam Hendon, and Jay McDonald will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
