Obituary of Jack Herndon Bowden

Jack Herndon Bowden passed away at his home September 1, 2024 after a short illness. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday September 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with a family graveside service.
Jack was born to J.B. Bowden and Frances Herndon Bowden on October 4, 1935 in Talladega. He went to Talladega schools and graduated from Talladega High School in 1953. He went to Auburn University and graduated with a degree in Engineering in 1957. Also in 1957, he married Norma Vincent and served his country in the Army Signal Corps at Fort Monmouth, N. J. He and Norma returned to Talladega in 1958 where he joined his father in Bowden Roofing Company where he worked until he retired in the late 1980s. He then opened Bowden Company. A property management company and operated it until his death. He was active in Southwood Presbyterian Church for many years.
Jack is survived by his children, Suzan Christensen (Steve) and Russell Bowden, grandchildren, Stefanie Francisco (Jim) and Sam Christensen (Rachel) and great grandchildren, Evangeline Francisco and Sullivan Francisco. Jack is also survived by his dear friend Betty Webster.
