Patricia Diane Farmer “Doodle”, of Talladega passed away August 16, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., August 19, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Kenneth Lipham will officiate the service. Her family will receive friends Monday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Patricia graduated from Winterboro High School where she was a straight A student, student council representative, head cheerleader and also a member of the Smilers Club, “Class beauty”. Her Quote for her senior year was “Once I cried because I had no shoes, Then I saw a man who had no feet“. She worked at Crown Textile as an accounts payable manager. She retired from there and went to work at Southland Callers as the bookkeeper for years and she was also a pro at making a turkey call. She then went to work at Shocco Springs Baptist Camp where she was the manager of the bookstore, where she worked in high school during the summers. She loved people and loved to help. She Volunteered for Sunshine Saturday and Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Farmer was a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church and the Rachel Sunday School Class. Later in life she attended Bethel United Methodist Church where she worshipped in her early years. She was a huge fan of southern gospel music and actually loved all types of Music. She is known for her beautiful smile and caring heart. She never turned down a moment to help out her friends.

Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Earl Farmer and parents, Harry and Jacquelyn Stephens.

She survived by her son, Michael Rory Farmer (Melanie); daughter, Bethany Farmer Myrick; grandchildren, Rose Lynn Eads (Tyler), Jim Farmer (Ashley), Mary Pat McGlawn (Joseph), Benjamin Myrick, Jac Myrick; great grandchildren, Ty, Evelyn and Hamlin Eads, Adams and Rory Farmer; her three siblings, Jayne Watson, Norman Stephens (Judi), Milton Stephens (Glenda); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many sitters for their loving care and hospice for helping navigate this illness.

Pallbearers will be Jim Farmer, Tyler Eads, Joseph Mcglawn, Ben Myrick, Jac Myrick, David Stephens, Daniel Stephens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Samaritan House or your favorite charity.

Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega will direct the service.
