Barbara Thomaston Kirtley, 85, of McCalla, AL passed away on Sunday, August 04, 2024. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 07, 2024, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Jacky Morgan officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Blue Eye Baptist Cemetery.

Mrs. Kirtley was a native of Lincoln, AL but lived most of her life in Miami, FL with her husband, Jim, before retiring to Decatur, AL. She was Baptist by faith and was very active in her local church where she did family and marriage counseling. Mrs. Kirtley was very devoted to not just her faith, but her family as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kirtley; parents, Harvel David Thomaston and Seleta Elizabeth Thomaston; sisters, Euna Mae Underwood, Brenda Sue Slay, Kelsi Johnson, and Linda Brannon, and brother, Thomas Thomaston.

Mrs. Kirtley is survived by her brother, Don Thomaston; nieces, Allison Montgomery (Greg), Tina Otinger (Marty), Leah Minter (Jeff), and Debbie Henderson (Rick); nephews, Andrew Thomaston (Dana), Chad Martin (Teresa), Brian Marks, and Phillip Thomaston (Elizabeth), and a host of great nieces and great-nephews.

Greg Montgomery, Marty Otinger, Josh Otinger, Dale Wyatt, J.D. McCormick, and Steve Baker will serve as pallbearers.
