Obituary of James "Lee" Levert Lacey

James Levert "Lee" Lacey, a beloved son, brother, and father, passed away on July 31, 2024, at the age of 43. He was born on July 30, 1981, in Hoover, AL, and most recently resided in Lincoln, AL.
Lee, as he was commonly known, was a natural storyteller, Lee had a unique ability to captivate an audience with his animated tales. He had a witty sense of humor and was known for his loyalty and generosity. Family was everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
As a mechanic, Lee excelled in his profession and knew how to run a successful business. He took pride in his work and was admired for his attention to detail. "One day at a time" was a motto that guided his approach to life.
Lee was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James "JC" Lacey and Arris Levert Formby, grandmothers, Charlotte Lacey and Jean Formby, Aunt Kathy Lacey Kelly, and beloved cousins, Pam Guthrie Broadwell and Brittany Guthrie.
Lee is survived by his daughter Alexa Lacey, who was the light of his life. He is also mourned by his father, Robert Nicholas Lacey, his mother, Lenda Lacey Wagner, and his sister, Karee Lacey Kiley (Trent), and nephew, Chase Lacey. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Those who knew Lee will remember his funny anecdotes and his ability to turn a mountain out of a mole hill. He had a heart of gold, always ready to lend a helping hand or bring a smile to someone's face.
In his passing, Lee leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lee’s family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, followed by a 5:00 p.m. memorial service.
