Obituary of Sara C Hughes

Sara C. Hughes, 90, of Munford passed away July 15, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Munford Memorial Cemetery with Tommy Strickland officiating. The family will have a visitation after the service at her residence. Mrs. Hughes was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and Calhoun Counties. She was a member of Munford Baptist Church and also attended Southside Baptist Church in Talladega. She retired from Ft. McClellan Civil Service Department. Sara was an officer for Good Sam Camping Club and enjoyed camping and traveling for many years. Mrs. Hughes is preceded in death by her husband, Jeral Hughes, grandson, Chase McKinney, and parents, Malcom and Willie Bell Coley. She is survived by her sons, Scott Hughes (Deana), Bryan Hughes, daughter, Jennifer Hayes (Curtis), sister, Martha Wells Trejo, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of choice. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing the service.
