Obituary of Helen Elizabeth Blackburn Hudgins

Helen Elizabeth Blackburn Hudgins of Talladega County was born April 8, 1924 and at age 90 passed away on Sunday January 11, 2015 at Talladega Health Care. Funeral service will be held 1:00pm January 13, 2015 at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Reverend Gary Plummer will officiate. Her Family will receive friend from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral Home. Mrs. Hudgins was a member of Ironaton Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by husband Edward O. Hudgins, mother Rosa Blackburn (Miss Rosie) and father William Blackburn, brothers Henry and Junior Blackburn and a great granddaughter Adaleigh Elizabeth Buchanan. She is leaving behind her daughter Billie Jewell, son-in-law Edwin Jewell Jr., son Donald Hudgins (Debbie), grandchildren Edd Jewell III, Beth Lackey, Susan Snyder (Thad), Sara Crace (Jim), Brooke Hill ( Brian) ,Donald Hudgins II and great grandchildren Edwin Jewell IV, Joshua Jewell, Emma Hudgins, Abigail Hill and a Host of nephews and their families and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her for her kind and loving heart, especially towards her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Donald Hudgins, Donald Hudgins II, Rodney Blackburn, Thad Snyder, Brian Hill and Mike Massey. The family would like to thank the staff at Talladega Health Care, Dr. Jimmy Davis, Joan Patterson and Ironaton Baptist Church for all the attention rendered over the past 3 years.
