Obituary of Jo Ann Jarrett

Jo Ann Jarrett, 90, of Talladega, AL passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Dr. Todd Henderson officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. She will be interred privately after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Jarrett was born and raised in Tallapoosa County. She attended St. Margaret’s School of Nursing where she met and married her husband, Waite. Mrs. Jarrett then received her Bachelor’s of Nursing at Jacksonville State University. She retired from the Talladega County Health Department after many years of service. Mrs. Jarrett was a member of First Methodist Church of Talladega, where she loved to crochet prayer shawls for the ladies group. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waite H. Jarrett, and her son, Mark Jarrett. Mrs. Jarrett is survived by her daughter, Carol Ford; sons, Steve Jarrett (Kimmy), and David Jarrett; grandchildren, Heath Ford, Angelina Auguilar, Laura Jarrett, Drew Jarrett, Mollie Jarrett, and great-granddaughter, Savannah Auguilar. The Thursday Night Pickers: Huel Love Jr., Johnny Hardegree, Jinky Roberts, Lynwood French, Lin Smith, Joel Gibson, Jimmy Upchurch, and Jeb Fannin will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to The Arc of North Talladega County at 209 Sunset Drive, Talladega, AL 35160.
