Obituary of Robert "Bobby" L. Carden

Robert “Bobby” L. Carden, Jr. was born on June 10, 1960 to Robert and Helen Carden. He resided in Winterboro, Alabama and was a proud graduate of Winterboro High School, class of 1979. He made a career in commercial construction building and overseeing primary hospital and school projects. As God planned it, he worked his last years for The Talladega County Board of Education as The Head of Maintenance. While there, he was honored to oversee the new construction of his Alma mater.
He is a member of Eden Westside Baptist Church. He loved fishing, Alabama Football, and his family (especially his grandchildren). But, most of all, he loved Jesus.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Carden and mother, Helen Adair Carden.
He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Teresa Haisten Carden; daughter, Ashton Carden Stewart (Hunter); son, Caleb Thomason; grandchildren, LillieAnna, Willow, Anderson and Jaxson Stewart; brothers, Mike Carden (Sandy) and Jerry Carden (Pat); a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly; and special family, Debbie Carden, and Terry and Sonya Wilson.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm and at Mt. Ida Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
The funeral service will be held at Mt. Ida Missionary Baptist Church at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, with Bro. Whitt Hibbs officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mt. Ida Missionary Baptist Church or Eden Westside Baptist Church for special missions and working for the kingdom.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Dr. Ronald (Rock) Helms, Kim Clinkscales, Cathy Jennings (former staff) and all of his staff for unbelievable compassion and care over the years. Special thanks to St. Vincents St. Clair and St. Vincent’s Trussville Staff, Ascencion Home Health, Northside Apothecary, St. Vincent’s Medical Supply and all of the health professionals who cared for him and our family over the years.
