Russell Earl Stratton, 93, of Talladega, AL passed away at his home on Friday, June 07, 2024. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Clint Walker officiating. Mr. Stratton was born in Lamar, Missouri but lived most of his life in Talladega. He grew up in Golden City, Missouri until he joined the military. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service. Mr. Stratton was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He loved to talk and spend time with his friends, and he was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Dana Stratton; first wife, Mary Stratton; sister, Lois Tucker, and brother, Carl Stratton. Mr. Stratton is survived by his wife, Roberta Stratton; daughter, Sherry Stratton Barber (Wayne); son, Phillip Todd Stratton (Nanci); 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Heiskell (Paul), Shirley Townley, and Sharon Stratton, beloved friends, Ben Whitten and Troy Parsons, and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Stratton’s family asks that donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
