Obituary of Janice Prather Spann
Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ms. Janice Prather Spann passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Janice was retired from Regions Bank. She volunteered her time to several charity organizations including the United Cerebral Palsy, United Way, and National Credit Association. She served as President of the Birmingham Chapter of Credit Women International.
She loved her sons, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, has a love for music, and most of all enjoyed spending time at the beach.
Most people will remember her as the hostess, cashier, and just the all-around friendly friendly, take-charge person at the Pell City Steak House. She enjoyed her work and loved talking to all of the customers.
She was a very independent woman who preferred to do for others. She liked for things to be done her way and there was no point in trying to argue with her. If you knew her, you loved her. If you loved her, she loved you. At that point, you had no choice, you were her friend forever.
Janice as a vibrant, classy, and elegant lady. She will be leaving behind a legacy of kindess and strength. No words can express how much she will be missed. As her family, our lives are forever changed.
She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Spann (Janet) and Danny Spann (Kristy); granddaughters, Kayla Ballamy (James), Kelsi Spann, Brooklyn Spann, Mackenzie Crane (Cameron), and Lauren Dickey; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Ballamy.
