When our daughter picked our her wedding venue in 2011 it was in the pasture of her uncle Langdons farm. He planted a strong stand of grass in the field, leveled out the ground, applied ant killer and straw for flooring for the event. I remember at breakfast the morning of the event he asked "do you want a dance floor? I can have the guys build it just say the word" I said "oh my, that would be fabulous" we already had a DJ planned so our guests danced in the middle of the field at our daughter's wedding. Only my brother Langdon could offer and pull off such a feat! I will always love you.

At a Christmas party in Birmingham, my mother encountered Mr. Hubbard. She remarked that he bore a resemblance to Paul Newman. Mr. Hubbard, with a smile, inquired, "At what age?" To which she replied, "With Paul Newman, there is no bad age."

The memories I will cherish about Mr. Hubbard.
His laughter. When he laughed, his whole person would radiate joy. At one of the Birmingham, Christmas parties, Patsy Williams started talking about singing. Mr. Hubbard told Patsy to sing something for us. Patsy, threw it off onto me, saying go ahead Pattie, you sing. I immediately, said, oh no way, I'm not doing that. Mr. Hubbard just found the interaction to be so funny. For me, reflecting on the past can still bring clarity and healing. That's one of many pleasant memories. The first photo is of my mother and me. The second is my son and I, at Orange Beach, thanks to the generous use of the Condo. In 2008 Mr. Hubbard mailed me the key and the address for the condo to my office at Creekside. In the note, he wrote, I have noticed that you have never used it, so here is the key; you may have it for an entire week. He was a kind man.

I have no words of condolences which will ease, the pain of losing a loved one. I give you something in hopes it may help during this time. A Limb has fallen from the family tree that says,
Grieve not for me.
Remember the Best Times, the Laughter, the Song,
the GOOD LIFE I lived, while I was Strong.
Mr. Hubbard was a good man with a good heart. I appreciated him as a person and my employer. He will be missed but not forgotten. I pay my respects to him and his family.
