We are sad to announce the death of Peggy Sue Castleberry Jones, 76, a beloved figure of ONEeighty Church, and the Springville Senior Center, Springville, Alabama.

Prior to her move to Springville, she lived a full life in the Andalusia, Alabama area of South Alabama, and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in the Straughn Community. Peggy passed away suddenly in Allentown, PA on Sunday, May 26, 2024, while returning from a week-long trip to Maine. She lived a life full of love for her family, service and kindness to her community, a passion for travel, and an all-consuming love for Jesus Christ, her Lord.

Peggy was preceded in death by the love of her life of over 50 years, her husband, Jacob Jones; her mother, Inez Castleberry; her father, J.T. Castleberry; her brother L.D. Castleberry; and her great-granddaughter, Savannah Chesser.

She left a legacy through her children, Alan (Debbie) Jones, Rena (Wayne) Meeks, and Mark (Nesha) Jones; her grandchildren, Curt (Emily) Chesser, Jacob (Cortney) Chesser, Stephen (Dustin) Jones, Zack (Sarah) Jones, Brannon (fiancée Emma) Jones, Nolan Jones, Peyton Meeks, Anna (Ethan) Bush, and Zack (Brittany) Meeks; and four great-grandchildren, Henry Chesser, Harper Jones, Amelia Jones, and Colby Chesser.

The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, followed by the funeral ceremony at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gresh Harbuck officiating.

A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Andalusia, Alabama.
