David Lawrence Johnson, 60, of Munford, AL passed away at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2024. A funeral ceremony will be held in his honor at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Buddy Roberson and Eddie Cornelious officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Munford. Mr. Johnson attended Bynum Church of God. He was veteran of the United States Air Force and worked as a custom home builder. He was a loving husband, father, and paw-paw. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gloria Heise, and great-granddaughter, Malikaya Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Shelley Johnson; daughter, Kimberly Smith; sons, Michael Johnson (Christina) and Andrew Johnson (Coedy); grandchildren, Katelynn Johnson, Rylan Johnson, Raelynn Johnson, Rhett Johnson, and Gracelynn Smith, step-grandchildren, Andrew Hill and Stephen Hill, and his construction crew. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Johnson, William Mitchell, Joshua Lee, Clyde Huckabea, Simone Garcia, and Merle Turner. Online condolences may be offered at www.usreyfuneralhome.com.
